I started my journey as a DJ in 2014, while helping my husband, The Uncle of House - DJ Phat Cat, do events, private parties and obtain residences at establishments on the southside of Chicago. Together we created Phat Cat Entertainment. We became known as the "Phat Catz" in the House music community. My husband trained me in the craft of being a DJ as a true art form. This is not just press and play, as most people seem to think. I was just a back-up for my husband and now I've learned to appreciate the work that is put into the preparation before the main event. To be a DJ or producer is to be an artist that creates mood and that is what attracted me. I grew up listening and loving all types of music through my parents. My Dad was a DJ and to my surprise, I come from a long line of Uncles who were also DJ's. My younger brother is named DJ and my Dad thought he was the one to become a DJ, but who knew I would be the one. My Dad called me Tillee, and that's what I used for my DJ name.
