Music Without Borders #614

Into the Mystic with Katherine Caditz is a playlist of music inspired by walking in the neighborhood and hearing the sounds of music. Sometimes just one note from a song can transform us to mystical places. While walking past a garden, I heard the opening bass beats of Van Morrison's, "Into the Mystic." The sound stopped me, and a deeper listen made it clear that the sounds were coming from inside the overgrown garden, where someone was practicing the bass lines to the song on their guitar. For me, it was a mystical moment in the city. The walk brought me to a stop again, where I heard the sounds of drumming, coming from a back yard. Along the walk I heard a woman's voice, singing a soulful sound from an open window. And so, my walk along the city street was inspiration for this playlist, "Into the Mystic."
