The Time Tunnel podcasts are inspired by (in name and theme music) the classic Irwin Allen science fiction series 'The Time Tunnel'. Like the time travelling protagonists in that series, each addition host Pete Faizey picks a year and explores it via the music which defined those twelve months from pop song to television soundtrack and many genres in-between. There will be familiar numbers here and there, but the focus of this show is to share with the listener some of the lesser known gems of eras past and present.

Formerly a weekly programme airing on Black Country Radio from October 2016 - April 2017 the series is now an upload only podcast on Mixcloud with occasional special episodes produced each year. The first was a tribute to lead singer/songwriter of The Fall Mark E Smith, uploaded on 5th March 2018, with a further special released on 4th October 2018, a tribute to television composer and pioneer Dudley Simpson. Further podcasts continue to be produced into 2020.
