What a strange world we live in where skating on thin ice gets you into hot water...

I have been playing the Tabla since I was a kid, and always loved to sing. I am just so fortunate that I do it for a living now!

I am a disciple of Ustad Rukhsar Ali of the Delhi Gharana of tabla playing, who was in turn, a shagird of the famed Ustad Latif Ahmad of the Delhi Gharana.

I learned the art of Khayal and Ghazal gayaki ang from the late Malika e Tarranum Mushtari Begum, and Harmonium from her husband, Ustad Sheikh Mohyudean. Mushtari Begum ji was a student of the famed Ustad Faiyyaz Khan of the Sahaswaan Gharana of vocal singing.

I also consider Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, the inventor and Maestro of the Mohan Veena, a 19 stringed slide hybrid guitar, as one of my Ustads as well. He has taught me how to accompany with Classical Instrumental music, and is also one of my vocal teachers as well.

I am credited on 17 albums so far, with more coming on the horizon.

I have performed with Gram
