Marie Chevalier started The AoRA Project started as a personal project at the end of 2012.

It began by writing some melodies and lyrics but it became to me too big to just record them.

I wanted to have a finished project, something I could share to the world with a professional result. Step by step, I learnt the songwriting process, how to improve recordings and mixing songs. Eventually I released a 3 songs demo at the beginning of August 2013 entitled ‘Rêveries’. I chose a French name for this demo as a reminder for myself of my roots even if I do not live anymore in France.

I also chose an artist name as I would like to be recognize for my music more even if I put a lot of my personality into that project. ’AoRA’ comes from the french name “Aura” as I wanted to spread and shine the music to others. It is the purpose of my music and I wish to touch everyone to the heart with ambient songs and meaningful lyrics. I enjoy telling stories and tales through them.
