Listening History

United States
I recently uploaded the first of many old-school DJ mixtapes and mixCDs in my collection. I have many more mixes to share from the underground era of analog mixtapes. I plan to upload each DJ set I have, along with remastered versions of those which benefit significantly from clarified audio. This way casual listeners can become immersed in the remastered sets without distracting noise, while the source dubs offer the possibility of applying future noise reduction tech to generate better remasters than possible today.
Audio fidelity of mixes on cassette media varies widely, yet I recorded nearly every mix directly to MiniDisc, ensuring a relatively clean transfer, preserving dynamic range with digital audio. To process remasters, I apply noise print algorithms to selectively extract only tape hiss, machine rumble, and other noise artifacts. For preexisting audio drop-outs baked into source recordings, I sample and reconstruct missing audio if high restoration accuracy is achievable.
