Entebbe soundsystem formed in London in 1978 by a few close bredrin who grew up together going to neighbouring schools in North London. Together they had the same calling from their collective love of roots & culture reggae music. During these early years the foundations were laid in their mutual interest in soundsystem culture and African tradition.

This young generation of Caribbean settlers in the UK influenced them to link with others with similar interests and they soon began playing their soundsystem with other popular local sounds like Scrap Iron, Fatman Sound, Count Marshall, and Black Star Liner, and were soon playing the circuit every weekend to capacity crowds who would travel across London to hear them play.
