Tales of Ordinary Madness radio show aired on CHRY 105.5 FM in Toronto (York University) from the station's inception in 1987 until 1993, what I consider was a golden era of alternative music. Punk, thrash, garage, industrial, experimental and local music, primarily from vinyl records, was featured, often accompanied by my reactionary rants about politics, pot, and the price of beer. Surprisingly the cassettes of these shows have held up well over the last 30 years, though you will hear some low levels, skipped records, and occasional dead air. Also, edits are generally abrupt at the beginning of the files, about 45 minutes in (tape flip), and at the end. For the record, my reverence for the Toronto Sun, Urge Overkill, and alcohol are considerably different today. Files are listed by date. Sets get run down about every half hour, and if you hear something that doesn't get identified you can Shazzam it, search for it by a unique lyric, or PM me. Enjoy, and I appreciate any feedback.
