When I turn on the radio, I am ready to let go of the worries of the world and fall into a music that stirs my soul and shakes my can. When listeners tune in to ¡Muévelas! they will experience a wide range of lively, Latin music with a special love affair for Afro-Cuban Jazz. As a drummer and a vinylphile, I have been pleasantly steeping in Afro-Cuban Jazz for years. My heart beats to those rhythms; I have been fanatical from the first. My collection and knowledge have grown as my love has. While I am also a huge fan of the Blues, Bluegrass, Rock, Reggae, Gypsy Jazz, Punk, Old Country and more, the complex beats and impossible musicianship of Afro-Cuban Jazz makes it the musical home I always come back to. I LOVE music. Listening to it, making it, but there’s more to it. It’s the soundtrack to our days, summing up our moods more succinctly than mere words. I believe it is the single clearest expression of what breathes inside of us. ♥
