Dear friends,
although Mod Mood selections are the most popular among my mixtapes, chapter no. 35 is getting little attention and I can't understand why.
I believe it deserves to be listened to, since it features very good music: recordings by the likes of James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Johnnie Taylor and Lou Donaldson; rare, intriguing stuff by acts such as Ronn Feaster, Fran Farley and Chuck Womack & The Sweet Souls; acid jazz by Charles Kynard and raw funk by The Soul Toronados; an instrumental cover of Aretha's "Rock Steady" and much more.
Maybe it's not for mod purists (no northern soul included), but it delivers great rhythm & blues and jazz.
