lately I recorded and uploaded two mixtapes that are very unusual by my standards: why don't you give them a chance? You'll be surprised.
Boiler Room is coming to Milan this month and my younger son is really excited about it.
Contemporary electronic dance music is not my cup of tea but I started wondering what I’d play if I were one of the dj’s in the line-up, so I picked some tracks that (in my opinion) could be good for a Boiler Room event.
Since I’m quite aged and I don’t go to clubs or rave parties nowadays (well, actually I never did!), the tracks I chose are really old (with few exceptions)!
Anyway, I compiled the tracklist for two different sets: the first one is a set to warm up the crowd before the superstar dj’s get on the stage featuring house with ethnic instruments and percussion (is it what they call tribal house?) and some deep house (here's the link: https://www.mixcloud.com/Supabrown/supabrowns-boiler-room-warm-up-set/ ).
The second one is aimed at setting the main stage on fire and it’s more eclectic than the first one (it features house, techno, tech-house, big beat, sometimes with jazz or ethnical influences).
Although it may seem incredible, on one track you’ll hear jazz trumpeter Paolo Fresu playing (he’s one of my musical heroes).
