Soundciety was created both from a love of music and a will to critically engage with our contemporary social realities. Its main goal is to facilitate an open debate and reflection on diverse topics at the intersection of society, music and culture. We wish to explore the historical details, the aesthetics of cultural production and the social underpinnings of music, while at the same time acknowledging its political potential and its relation with processes of social transformation. By reflecting and learning together along these lines we hope to contribute to a socially engaged musical practice.
