(((Sound Affects))) is a weekly public humanities music program exploring the connections between music, history, art, science, society, and culture.
Hosted by researcher and producer Keven Adams with DJ and co-host Jim Kempkes, each episode takes a theme, idea, question, event, or cultural moment and follows the music wherever it leads. Expect eclectic sounds, unexpected connections, historical rabbit holes, cultural context, and plenty of stories behind the music.
From obscure recordings and forgotten histories to familiar songs heard in a new context, (((Sound Affects))) is about the ways music reflects—and helps us understand—the world around us.
New episodes every Tuesday on WAYO 104.3 FM and available here on Mixcloud.
