Shuteyes or Shut was born Matthew Smith the youngest of 3 sons of a University Communications Professor and a prep. school English teacher. Though he was born in Syracuse, his family moved to Buffalo when Shut was 4 years old. Being Raised in the City of Buffalo in the Parkside area Shuteyes befriended the good, the bad, and the ugly along his journey, which helps his outlook on life seem very empathetic and sincere.
