She-Bang Rave Unit is Vicki Watson and Kirstie Paton, a DJ duo from Edinburgh.
The 'Unit' bonded in 2010 through a want to throw parties without rules. They had a mutual love of Detroit techno, Chicago house, disco, acid, new wave, nu disco and post punk .
She-Bang Rave Unit are known to throw the genre rule book out the window and cherry pick the best from their collection, mixing up house, acid and the mighty techno, with old disco classics and rare gems. Or as they put it, “we draw from many confusing genre titles that are meant for f***ing good tunes to dance to”.
They present their 4-weekly radio show, Bang Wave Unit, on underground techno site, Fnoobtechno.com which is archived here. The Bang Wave Unit mixes are by She Bang Rave Unit and guests. These mixes are Techno, as per the rules of Fnoobtechno... rules are sometimes broken!
