Sarah SALT, born Sarah Laukkanen in Geraldton, Ontario, Canada. Youngest of 4 daughters, her father a preacher and her mother a teacher.

From the ages of 3 to 13 she grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was an average student in a french immersion school, had many friends and loved to draw and paint. She would often sing solos and sing in the choir at her local pentecostal church.

When her now seperated mother moved herself and Sarah to Toronto at the age of 13 she met new friends she would later form the band the Melvinoids with. They spent many a friday night rehearsing in the basement.

In her early 20's Sarah dated an assistant to a sound engineer and would go into the studio in the wee hours recording chilled out melodies. She would jam with anyone who was willing, and began writing some of her own songs, mostly spirituals.

She focused on her film career,
