S-man, born Lee-roy Pieters is the most exciting upcoming hip-hop artist in Namibia. His very successful album, titled ‘King of the South’, is a blend of English and Afrikaans.
S-man came to fame in Namibia in 2008 when he made his first appearance on national TV stations with a video for a song “Nuwe Single”. The song and video became an instant hit and received more than its fair share of airplay. This catapulted him to the limelight of Namibian music industry and opened him opportunities to string the stage with Namibia music icons in the likes of Jericho, Lady May, The Dogg, to mention a few. This made S-man the most popular artist from southern Namibia, an achievement that earned him a nickname: The King of the South or Koning van d Suide.
