hello mixcloud! dj red ape at your service. i'm getting back into djing and producing tracks after a 10 year hiatus. i'm from los angeles, but have lived in san francisco and now reside on the central coast of california. i started djing back in 1997. got my first set of technics decks in 1999. started cranking out drum and bass, & hip hop mix cds that same year . played a few backyard parties and local events in and around los angeles before getting into breakbeats and latin house in the early 2000s. after doing breakbeat mixes for a few years i settled into trip hop and dub. i produced a bunch of techno and breakbeat tracks for use in adulf films around 2007. left los angeles in 2012 after a stroke of bad luck. tried to re-invent myself in san francisco. then got evicted out of my loft in 2015 and been living on my family farm ever since. i have to dig thru my archives and re-digitize and compress my old mixes. as soon as i do i'll post them here for y'all to enjoy. thanks! red ape
