Justin has been collecting records for roughly 10 years, initially focusing on soul and funk, but more recently dedicating his time to seeking out rare Chicano soul. He was born and raised in a small town on the southern border of Texas, so collecting sounds from his “neighborhood” seemed like a natural move.
After relocating to Minneapolis, Justin began co-hosting a monthly soul and funk night called Hot Pants, which has been extremely popular and going strong for 5 years. Later, he would make a move back down south to San Antonio, where he would collaborate on another event there called Alamo City Soul Club. While back in Texas, he has spent most of his time connecting and DJing alongside some of the areas legendary performers.
