Playing tracks by

PAN Project Ensemble, Matt Mitchell, Kate Gentile, Denis Dufour, Wolfgang Rihm, Tod Machover and more.

Chart positions

This show was 2nd in the global noise chart, 4th in the global classical chart, 7th in the global experimental chart, 49th in the global chillout chart and 54th in the global jazz chart.

Hear the latest music from George Crumb, dean of American composers, as Radio Eclectus unveils Book II of his lovely Metamorphoses: ten fantasy pieces for amplified piano after celebrated (modern) paintings. Premiered in December 2020, its first recording is due out on Bridge Records in November 2021. But we’ve got it now, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Plus we've got the new recording of Tod Machover’s sci-fi opera Death and the Powers from Boston Modern Orchestra Project, a new East meets West project featuring Gamin Kang and Ned Rothenberg, new chamber music by Wolfgang Rihm, and new box sets by Matt Mitchell/Kate Gentile and French acousmatician Denis Dufour. Rounding out the playlist are a classic performance by La Monte Young & company that’s turning 50, plus an uncharacteristically angst-ridden postmodern oddity from the ordinarily jaunty Malcolm Arnold for his centenary. Radical new music with host Michael Schell.
