Taipei, Taiwan
at a new years rooftop party, back when I barely knew anything about mixing, I took massive pride in blasting the tunes for the people there. As everyone was getting hammered, I sat behind my friends shitty laptop with VirtualDJ running, no mixer or turntables and a half decent pair of speakers. As the countdown for the new year was drawing closer, I checked for the current time (in exact), did a little basic math, played the next song, synced it perfectly so when the clock strikes 12, the drop drop's. And man, it could not have gone better. The view was of the Taipei 101 and as the song was nearing the drop, massive numbers were projected on the skyscraper, counting down into the new year. "U.S.A. you were born to rage so c'mon!" The reactions of my friends to the drop syncing with the countdown blew me away. This was literally my first time. Light the spliffs and swallow your pills. I'll be in my dj booth. You might not be impressed, but this is just how I got into mixing
