Dear Mixcloud friends

Thank you so much for your amazing support for my two wonderful guests, Werner aka DJ Linientreu64 and Claus Pieper.

I'm thrilled to present my latest vinyl only session Shadow Frequency.

“Shadow Frequency” dives into the silent spaces beneath the surface — where emotions and memories exist without words. The music feels like a quiet signal from within. Secrets that don’t need to be explained, only felt.

Thank you for listening and I always appreciate your feedback.

I wish you a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe.

This set is incredible Phil, amazing deep tracks and expert mixing skills. So impressed with this set. What a selection of tracks you’ve chosen for us 🙌💃🙌💃

Phil Moreno

Thank you so much, dear Liz, for your wonderful feedback and for listening. I'm so glad you wrote. The current weather conditions aren't exactly ideal for internet use 😎 So it's all the more wonderful to see that you took the time. I wish you a great week with hopefully pleasant temperatures 🤗🫶🙏🌴🌞

Liz Dreher

@Phil_Moreno it’s constant it, over in the UK we are just not equipped for heatwaves. Vast majority of us have no air conditioning so it’s not pleasant! I hope you are managing to keep cool my friend 🤗🤗🤗

Phil Moreno

@LizCDreher That's the same in our country; we're more prepared for heating because of the winter and not for temperatures above 37 degrees 😅

Liz Dreher

@Phil_Moreno yeah it’s battling the cold weather you usually have to contend with. I’m not sure which is worse, the cold for me I think as I feel cold weather terribly, although this is not pleasant either 😂. We’re never happy with the weather! 🙄😆

Phil Moreno

@LizCDreher 😂 😆

Ineshka

It starts off so well, with that lovely transition into one of Moby's most beautiful tracks in this lovely version 😍🎶🎧

Phil Moreno

Thank you so much, dear Ineshka, for your wonderful feedback. The first track holds great significance for me. When it came out back in 1993, hearing it at big raves was simply incredible. The sound was magical, the feeling unique. Even today, the track still sounds as fresh as it did back then. I particularly like this remix because it largely preserves the original—everything is just much slower. Moby’s track "Go" changed my perspective back in 1991. I had already been captivated by the music in the late 80s when the first wave of Acid House hit Europe, but "Go"—especially the Woodtick version—was a true revelation. It still sounds brilliant today. Moby is amazing.

Ineshka

@Phil_Moreno Thank you for sharing that, Phil. I always enjoy hearing the stories behind the music, it gives the mix even more depth. It's amazing how some tracks never lose their magic 🙏🏻✨️🎶🫶

Phil Moreno

@ineshka I still get goosebumps every time I hear the break in the track "Follow Me." It feels like taking flight. Back in 1993, it was a real community. No mobile phones, no social media—you’d stand on the dance floor listening to a sound that was absolutely incredible. You’d look at the people around you and see that everyone was feeling the same thing. No hassle, no stress, no violence—just a good time.

Ineshka

@Phil_Moreno Beautifully said. The music brought people together in a way that's hard to explain unless you were there. Now it's different and it feels like a virtual battle for some 😅 but for those who understand, it's also an interesting sharing experience for those who put their heart and energy into it without trying to compare themselves unnecessarily 😊✨️🌐🎶

Phil Moreno

@ineshka What you’re writing is absolutely right. The many incredible artists here on Mixcloud and their phenomenal sessions demonstrate this as well 🫶

Ineshka

Hello Phil, I'm a little late with my comment, but I finally had the chance to fully enjoy Shadow Frequency. Another exceptional vinyl session. What impressed me most is how naturally you blend different styles while keeping the flow intact. Every transition feels intentional and well placed. Nothing sounds random, every record contributes to the journey.
Your track selection is excellent, but your mixing is what truly makes the difference. The phrasing, timing, and seamless transitions show real mastery of vinyl mixing.
Awesome work once again, Phil. Have a wonderful weekend, and I'm already looking forward to your next vinyl journey. 🤗✨🎶💫🌐🫶🎧

Phil Moreno

Dear Ineshka, thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for the time you dedicated to my session. It is not too late at all—quite the opposite. It is fantastic that you took the time for my session. I am delighted by what you wrote, as I always try to pour all my passion and energy into a musical story. Knowing that this feeling comes across is simply wonderful for me to read. I wish you a relaxing weekend and hope you find a cool spot in Paris. It is supposed to get a bit cooler here next week—whatever that might actually mean 🤗🫶🙏

Ineshka

Awesome selection 🔥🔥🔥

Phil Moreno

Thank you so much, dear Ineshka, for the precious time you dedicated to my session. It isn't easy to get online in these temperatures, so I am all the more delighted that you graced me with your presence. Thank you. I wish you a wonderful weekend and hope you find a cool spot in Paris 😍🤗🫶

Ineshka

Beautiful, soft, deep sounds that make the music feel like it breathes💯👌🎶

Sascha Dive is one of my favorite producer 😍

Stephan D

Dear Phil, after spending some time with your latest creation, I am writing to express my admiration for the masterful soundscape you have produced. It is a genuinely unforgettable auditory experience. Blending the progressive energy of Jerome Isma-Ae with iconic techno weight of Moby-Go(Manic Brothers Remix) and then seamlessly settling into the deep, chord driven textures of Janeret and maintaining the momentum with Sasha Drive, it is truly a memorable sonic journey. Another impeccable blend(i like all of them ,but these examples stood out for me) is the deep/minimal warmth of Robiin-Feel Good(i love this track. I have it and going to use it in a future set) with the atmospheric expanses of Oceanic(Satoshi Fumi Remix)(Anjunabeats Release). Every transition is thoughtfully crafted -a remarkably rich and satisfying journey for the ears. You’ve done an exceptional job cultivating a vibrant atmosphere is this mix. As I have noted in my previous comments, I particularly enjoy how your selections and transitions perfectly replicate the premium club experience. Well done, Phil! Looking forward for your next set! Have a cool week ahead!

Phil Moreno

Dear Stephan, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful and detailed feedback. Your words show such great appreciation. I actually put a tremendous amount of effort into preparing a session. I experiment a lot, considering what might work, how to structure the set, which tracks fit the theme, and so on. Sometimes it takes weeks before I’m happy with the track selection. The actual mixing is a whole different story; I had to give this one five tries because I kept completely botching at least one transition. It didn't turn out perfect this time either, but I can live with it. Your words show great respect for my work, and I thank you sincerely for that. I wish you a fantastic week and hope you can find a cool spot somewhere. Thanks, Stephan, for your amazing support 🤗🫶🙏

@Phil_Moreno Hi Phil, it’s interesting that you mention Above & Beyond on Discogs. I immediately looked up listings for this record yesterday and I was astonished at the pricing. But it sure is a gem & people must pay $100 😬 per used copy for VG+ … 😬

Phil Moreno

Hi Dan, yes, Above & Beyond records are extremely expensive. There are mint copies being offered for over $500. It's crazy. I sometimes wonder if people actually pay that much. The problem is that there aren't enough good-quality copies available for sale. Especially in the trance genre, unbelievable prices are sometimes being asked.

Pure_Analog

Dear Phil, absolutely outstanding session ... just as I expected !!! However, perhaps this will surprise you, the highlight for me is not the tracks we previously discussed, but rather "Feel Good" and the transition to "Oceanic". Robin's track is smooth & pretty, and Satoshi Fumi's remix is an absolute belter. An epic sequence & definitely the pinnacle for me … simply brilliant work !!! I hope your week is starting off nice so far 🤩🔥🤗🔥🤙

Phil Moreno

Dear Dan, thank you so much for your great feedback and for taking the time to listen to my session. I think Robin's track is absolutely fantastic. Incidentally, it's the record where I had to enlarge the hole in the middle, and then the hole became too big. I was able to weigh the record down, but any rough handling causes it to skip. The Above & Beyond track is easy to include because it has a long intro, the record is excellently pressed, and the correction can be made directly on the record without any problems 😆 The track is a few years old, but it still sounds great. These days, good copies on Discogs are going for over $100. It's crazy how these prices have skyrocketed. I'm glad I was able to buy this track at a reasonable price in a DJ shop back then. Have a great week, Dan! 🤗🫶🙏

Paul Perry

I really loved that first track!! Jerome Isma-Ae is magic!!!

Phil Moreno

I'm so glad you liked what you wrote. I think the original by Jam & Spoon is brilliant, but this remix by Jerome is fantastic because he largely keeps the original, just slows it down. He understood that the essence of the track shouldn't be changed.

VioMB

Awesome Journey, Phil Moreno !! 😍❤️❤️‍🔥❤️
Great Session !! 😍❤️😊

Phil Moreno

Thank you so much dear Violeta 🙏 Have a wonderful sunday 🤗🫶
