London, United Kingdom
Born in West London, music was always played in the house by Mum and Dad, predominately soul, reggae or calypso when I was growing up with my older sister and two younger brothers. I listened to Dad's soul and reggae tunes back in the day, which has in turn rubbed off on me. As a teenager, I used my paper round money to buy my music from either Lullabys of Broadway or Magnum’s record store in West London.
Like many others, growing up, I listened to Greg Edwards and Robbie Vincent on the radio. We would borrow Dad’s old transistor radio to try and pick up the pirate stations at the weekends, to get our soul music fix. Great memories!
