P-Vans emerged in the underground New Zealand bass music scene with a Grime / Dubstep crossover titled "Ghost Pennies" followed by a 12" vinyl release on Aquatic Lab Records. In the early 2000's, P-Vans was exposed to the darker wave of UK Garage which inspired him around 2007 to start producing his own tracks. P-Vans then began cutting dub plates and playing them in his DJ sets at clubs and festivals. 
 P-Vans sound has gained support from radio stations such as Radioactive 88.6 fm, RDU and Base FM as well as been supported by key New Zealand Dubstep DJ Jason Howson on Everyday Dubs vol.01. P-Vans sound comes with straight up wall rattling sub bass frequencies while working within a dark palette of Dub, UK Garage, Grime, Trip Hop and Jungle. P-Vans builds tracks with a love for drums and space and his sound remains rooted in sound system culture where exclusive tracks are cut to dub plate and road tested in the dance on a heavyweight system prior to digital release.
