Born in Barbados, Nicholas Christopher Murray is a Toronto-based new media
artist, composer, producer, and sound designer. A founding member
of the electronic duo LAL, Murray began his career in the late 1990s
within Toronto’s hip-hop and electronic music scenes. His practice
has since evolved into experimental sound, video, and time-based
media. Working across disciplines, Murray examines perception,
duration, and the sensory dimensions of experience through light,
sound, and temporal structure to shape immersive and concept-
driven works.
