OSDj, formerly known as DJ Baraka (mid-90s to mid-00s) played psytrance as resident at Return to the Source (RTTS) with releases on labels such as Phantasm and Starchild Records. Baraka travelled the globe spinning an eclectic style of psytrance focusing on the journey aspect of the mix, the essence of which was inspired by the likes of Mark Allen and Tsuyoshi Suzuki. Not afraid to experiment with the mix, Baraka often brought in elements of other genres to his varied live sets, including progressive trance, house and techno.
As a lover of electronic dance music, with an ever-evolving passion for techno, including minimal and acid elements, OSDj is here, some two decades on with rekindled form inspired by the sounds of the likes of Richie Hawtin, Charlotte De Witte, Amelie Lens and ANNA. With this, he brings an invigorated passion for exploring new techno-based territory with personal interpretation but always leaving room for experimentation and surprises in his sets.
