In early 2000 No Celtic Boundaries was born, from Charles’ own love of Celtic folk and traditional music , on Lochbroom FM, in the small fishing village of Ullapool on the West Coast of Scotland before moving to the beautiful Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and, while still broadcasting on Lochbroom FM, joined Isles FM from Stornoway both on FM and the internet.

The show was initially produced by a retired BBC engineer (The late Tony Henk) but it wasn’t long before Charles took over all production and presenting with occasional guest presenters joining in from The Hebrides and Belfast. Charles found Tony Henks production, while superb, very restrictive. It wasn’t long before Charles had his wrists slapped by OFCOM.

Trying to find a name for the show was the hardest part and a friend in the form of The Late Maartin Allcock (Jethro Tull and Fairport Convention) came up with the name.
