Music is always the starting point of Nicholas Kirkwood’s seasonal design process. As he and his team put together moodboards of references, inspirations and ideas Kirkwood also collates playlists that determine the feel and mood of the collection.
DJ Benny Blanco from London based music collective Nonsense then collaborates with Kirkwood to create two playlists for each collection. The first of these two playlists is used to debut the collection at Paris Fashion Week with a twice-yearly presentation to press, buyers and key fashion industry opinion formers. The second playlist is used when the collection is sold and presented throughout the season.
