Somewhere toward the end of the 1990s I went and wasted some money on an EMU ESI-32 sampler. With a Zip drive and all that crap.
Of course it was pretty much already obsolete because all the software studios and VST plugins were about to replace the whole shebang. Hence I never really got the hang of it, and it ended up in a cupboard for a decade, whereupon it became sufficiently retro to fetch around 1/20th of the original price on eBay.
Not all these tracks feature said machine, but it's pretty obvious which ones do. Apologies for those, it was the heyday of Britpop and every other record was made by Norman Cook, I didn't know any better.
