I started DJing in 1987 while attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Our only option back then was vinyl, and my 12" single collection rivaled the size of the entire sound system. Being a Gen X DJ has afforded me the opportunity to see the progression from vinyl to CD to digital files and the many different ways to control those platforms. When I was an active DJ, my residencies were restricted to mosty Top 40 dance music with some Rock thrown in to keep the Indiana folk happy.

From my first visit to the clubs in Chicago, I have always preferred House Music to all other genres. When I do get time to mix music now, House is my goto. My style has always been smooth transitions over flashy tricks. I recently discovered DJ and Producer, Nora En Pure, who is one of the smoothest mixers I have ever heard. Most of what I have mixed recently is either her music or that of her fellow DJ/Producers. It is such uplifting music and instantly puts me in my happy place.
