Mute:8 Recordings was originally set up in 2003 by four DJ's / producers with a like minded philosophy of producing and playing Drum & Bass that breaks the mould and put on events that produce the vibe and atmosphere that brings people back for more. In the summer of 2003 the original launch night was put on in Northampton, followed by more events in Leicester, Rugby, Nottingham, Sheffield and more.
Building on this, Hostile MC and DJ KLR set about pushing Mute:8 Recordings forward as a full digital record label. Finally, by the end of October 2011, Mute:8 recordings saw its first ever mainstream release, kicking off with the mighty Scanners track, coupled with The Way Things Are, from BKEY. With the tracks from established artists, including BKEY, Smyla, Friske, Eiton, Treo, The Sect, Script, Hostile MC and many more Mute:8 Recordings is becoming an established label with a steady stream of quality releases.
