MUNK is Italo – German DJ, musician and producer MATHIAS MODICA.
Mathias released three Munk albums on Gomma records. He also produces other bands,
is a worldtravelling DJ, makes remixes and runs the GOMMA label with Jonas Imbery.
Gomma is the German independent mini label for all sorts of unnamable music:
Krauty Electronica, Tropical House, Avant-Pop. Gomma released the music of
MOULLINEX, WHOMADEWHO, MERCURY, The PHENOMENAL HANDCLAP BAND, TELONIUS...

Mathias' last Munk album The Bird And The Beat has been released in March 2011.
The album was "album of the month" in many magazines around the world. Songs from the album have been rereleased on Kitsune, Bugged Out and other labels.
