Man and beast share destinies that are alike in dignity however different in quality. In some lives we are human and in others we are not. We experience the world in all these ways because the treasures we seek are more complex than merely the milestones lauded by our society... graduation... promotion... marriage... children. Our treasures are more subtle ones. More than cultural milestones it is context that we seek. A reason to care, a way to understand, a meaning for our love and our eternal greatness. When determining what is important to get out of this life, remember that a beast will find just as much importance in his life. It is the same subtle enhancements to the self that both beast and man seek, for one and both are the same.
