Pearl’s General Store is a music show, mostly. We play music, chat about music, and provide info and extra tidbits on all the songs. My super sidekick, Boots, is always with me, dropping a musician's point of view and keeping me laughing.
In hour one of the program, it’s all the classic country artists you know from the ’50s forward, from Faron Young to Loretta Lynn, Mel Tillis, Ray Price, Jean Shepard, Connie Smith, Ernest Tubb, George Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dwight Yoakum, Jake Hooker, and much more.
In hour two, we branch out into Americana, Countrypolitan, Ameripolitan, Jazz, Blues, Standards, Rock ‘n Roll and more, but stick pretty close to all things “Roots”. You will hear anything from Aretha Franklin to the Ramones, JD McPherson to Fats Domino, Nick Lowe to Satchmo and always a couple of unknowns as well.
