Moralito is a Colombian born, London based record collector and DJ. He is one half of Candela Wax alongside Cal Jader (Movimientos) and hosts Alma on Portobello Radio, bringing Afro Latin sounds on vinyl. He is also co founder of Clandestina, a Latin party held once or twice a year in unconventional locations.
A regular at Jazu, Space Talk and The Jago, he has shared the booth with Gia Fu, Tash LC, Mitú, La Nena Magdalena and Montañera. He brought the first all vinyl salsa night with live percussion to Space Talk. He has played at Carnaval de Barranquilla, across Bogotá and at Tate Modern Lates as part of Frida Kahlo's exhibition. He regularly collaborates with the likes of Movimientos, NEA Records and Zaperoco, and together they bring Discotek, a project joining key figures from London's Latin and Afro-diasporic scene.
Rooted in Latin and Afro rhythms, his sets are eclectic, moving between salsa, cumbia and soukous, through funk, disco and jazz.
