It was humble beginnings as a commercial DJ in 1995 playing the clubs around the suburbs of Dandenong. Shortly after, Miss Mel moved up to the city and and worked hard to score some top guest spots and residencies at some of Melbourne's best clubs such as Bubble, Dome, Chasers, Samsara, Evolution, Hard Kandy and Sinergy just to name a few.
It was at Shine Dayclub at Evolution one Sunday morning that the would-be owners of what would become one of Melbourne's most awesome little clubs, Altitude, discovered Miss Mel banging out the hardest tunes she had in her box. From there they sought her out and Miss Mel became a resident at Altitude for over 6 years. Miss Mel played the clubs of Melbourne for 12 years and was renowned for her tight mixing and ability to connect with the crowd and play every set according to her timeslot.
Miss Mel's music taste range from solid techno to banging hard trance but her signature sound has always been melodic trance.
