Growing up in Brooklyn NY in the early 90s, it was hard not to be inspired by the amazing hip hop growing around her. Miss Spinster began her love of hip hop and Freestyle at the age of 8 years old. By the age of 9 she began chopping up samples of songs and soundbytes of commercials with a two deck tape boombox, a fisher price record player, and a mini Casio keyboard. Now, armed with two turntables (and often one or to midi samplers or synthesizers), along with an encyclopedic knowledge of old school hip hop and freestyle goodness, she brings her deep love for 90s hip hop, 80s break beats and freestyle goodness to the dance floor for your dancing pleasure and occasionally drops a few homemade beats.
