This is Mike5ive.
I grew up on a lot of video games, anime, zombies, ramen & TV. Sonically, I follow the Law of the BreakBeat or the Boom-Bap. I’m mostly attracted to piano, drums and woodwinds.

My entryway into music was through hip-hop but through exploration I slip into the zones of acid jazz, electric, funk, chip-tune and other vibrations. You know if it bleeds, it leads?; Well if it is a bop, let’s play it!

I’m am currently the host/dj of the World’s Famous, Spiritually-Certified: Bassmentality every Friday from 12am-2am on WTUL New Orleans 91.5fm (wtulneworleans.com).
When I’m not a DJ, I also masquerade as a filmmaker/co-Founder with my collective known as GumboMonster #WanderOutLoud and as a visual artist under the alias “Mike5ive.”
