Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Mellow8 has been playing deep house since the mid 90's. In 2009, Mellow8 and two other deep house DJ's (Mjay and Shuzz), started a group called Deep House Messengerz. The three DJ's specialize in strictly deep and soulful house and they rock deep house in townships mainly in the East of Johannesburg.
Mellow8's music was inspired by funk, disco and classic soul in the late 80's and early 90's. In the mid to late 90's, Mellow8 started collecting vinyls and laying his hands on any classic house cassettes and mix tapes that come his way. From there he never looked back!
