Matiko was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He started classical piano lessons at 7 and grew up to play and sing in the choirs throughout High school. Was hired after graduation as a piano accompanist for choirs and then ventured into audio production for his BS in recording arts. During his time in college he played in several local bands including a Hawaiian wedding band, a jam/funk band and a funk/rock band. He also studied music business while attending University of Colorado at Denver. Matiko worked as a music producer and engineer with several local bands helping them create their visions of sound on record. He also has done a vast amount of talent scouting for Red Bull Records. Finally getting the chance to showcase his full potential he has decided to produce his own album (RISE) which will be released as multiple singles. He wants to break into the club scene with his blend of dance/electronica/pop/hiphop influences while blending in hints of classical and world music vibe
