This year marks the 50th of the Dragonfly, a light plane that disappeared during a scenic flight over New Zealand’s South island in 1962.
Despite extensive searches, the Dragonfly and five other aircraft which vanished have never been found over an area dubbed ‘NZ’s Bermuda triangle’.
The Dragonfly contained 4 passengers, 3 of whom were Australians. Christian and Nicole spoke to John Rowan, the brother of one of the people lost in the disappearance, as well as NZ aviation historian Richard Waugh to try and understand the mystery.
