I am an information junkie. Collecting both music, text and images. Also fascinated with them as material objects. But as i surf though its evident that there is a linear perspective in which the world is viewed through its history. A lopsided story of the world is given to us. Collecting African sound archive is part of my practice and a central aspect of my dealing with the ‘danger of a single story’. I use abstract figurative forms to create performative images that centre around the notion of ‘rupture’ as seminal, a tool in the process where we fragment the ‘single story’ by cacophonising it, and then set this event as the aesthetic to our re-invention.
