AKA - Decoded Humans -

The culture of early house / techno was mixtapes, the only way we could get new music was to swap and exchange tapes, for ever dubbing, for ever checking out who had the best deck to copy them on, always on normal speed, never on high speed dub.

People would always be looking for the new tape, "the Dallas tape" DJ Massiv, anything by Angus, Strangemaster, anything from OS was gold, you name it we were hungry for it, anyone that had travelled away the first question was "got any mixtapes?" nothing was digital and we couldn't turn on the radio in the early days and hear our music.

My little passion project is to try and preserve the old mixtapes and foundation of our culture.
