Kingdom and Shane Oliver made an effort to come to our very first show in New York in October 2008, playing to a very small crowd in Nu Blu. Rustie broke the system almost immediately so it wasn't even really a musical event. But we stayed close over the years and still love the music and the legacy of Fade 2 Mind and of course, HBA and Ghetto Gothic. I remember Eclair Fifi and I going to the very first Night Slugs party at The Egg in London, immediately after playing a terrible club night at Cargo in Dalston. We pulled up and the place was packed and full of fog. Kingdom playing crazy edits and Manara on the mic. I'm not sure I've ever been to a club since that felt that good. It felt like this time where all the shit we were into was being compressed into a single aesthetic. And we were miles away from the boring house and techno of the era.
