Lāszlō Hortobāgyi was born in Budapest, altough he didn't plan it. He set up the "Gāyan Uttejak Society" in Budapest, Hungary, in 1981, since when it has been active - among other things - as a music studio and maintains a remarkable library of oriental music. Each of the ethno-musical elements in the music of Gāyan Uttejak Orchestra ("GUO") - that seem to be original and traditional - have in fact been digitally re-edified and restructured, consisting of small resynthesized samples digitally assorted and rearranged from the original local sound recordings. Music pieces are composed in the classical Indian musical structure, combined with other traditional and futuristic composition methods. This 11 track dub-centric mix contains a fraction of the sounds from GUO's extensive catalogue.
