Born back in the 90’s, this NYC-based band has a unique tone that's a collision of both Grunge and Roots, in other words: "Garage Americana."
The band's songs are written organically, which is a stark contrast to the cliched DAW-driven pulp that is currently stilting rock. In fact, Lonnieclaire brings a fresh sound to the genre with moody vocals, clever lyrics, hot-blooded guitar work and a rapacious attitude on the drums.
Their recent self-titled release (currently available exclusively only on Bandcamp at lonnieclaire.bandcamp.com) is both histrionically edgy and also sanguine.
Lonnieclaire has a deep-rooted history, but the band has somehow found a way to refine their sound and make spirited choices in tonality, structure and texture.
