During the 1960s, pirate radio stations in England were integral for exposing the country to rock & roll. Quality rock music is seldom found on the radio nowadays; these episodes have been developed in order to rekindle the spirit of pirate radio amongst a modern audience.
Inspiration for this show was fostered by the 2009 film "The Boat That Rocked" and its enamoring portrayal of how the pirate radio culture satisfied the much-needed exhilaration, joy, or sheer madness we all crave.
Without any FCC interference, this show thrives on the energy generated by an infectious catalog of bands which have gone largely ignored outside of college radio. Enjoy hearing something new each episode.
