California, United States

Chris, aka DJ Lawrence Grey, was born and raised in Pomona, California, where he was first introduced to DJs at Sunday kickbacks, backyard parties, warehouse events, raves, and nightclubs.

In the early ’90s, after moving to the Inland Empire, he became a key figure in the local scene as a promoter, event organizer, and nightclub partner. He also launched Society Magazine, the region’s first underground publication, helping pioneer Inland Empire’s music culture.

Chris was often seen with his DJ friends Kendo, Sergio X, Strange Love, Huggie, Thee-O, Fineline, Havoc, Dirty Laundry, DJ Bucky, and others.

By the late ’90s, he shifted to a career as a first responder but never lost his passion for music. In 2016, during a time of personal change, he returned to DJing—his therapy—rooted in Techno, House, 80s New Wave, Disco, Hi-NRG, Latin Freestyle, and Old School. Today, he enjoys playing for those who love the era, taking listeners on a nostalgic musical journey.
