The name Kassein is derived from the Japanese term for continuous improvement ‘Kaizen’ and a term which has always been a driving factor for the Sheffield based act.
Kassien aka James Maplebeck is no stranger to the scene, having worked for Ministry of Sound as a brand manger, he also heads up and is resident for Sheffield’s best and most forward thinking club night Cargo. Over the past 2 years Cargo along with good friends Urban Gorilla have been responsible for bringing some the best DJ and Live acts to the city such as Sasha, Swayzak, Glimpse, Gavin Herlihy, Jesse Rose, Will Saul, Eddie Richards, Subb-an and Adam Shelton to name but a few.
Outside of the snowballing success that is Cargo, Kassien still find time to chip in with other local promoters warming up for likes of Audio Jack, Click Box and Chris Finke. Kassien were also picked up by Yousef and his much lauded night Circus to warm things up on the Northern legs of the Circus Tour dates.
