Listening History

Essex, United Kingdom
Started listening to JFM and Horizon Radio back in the early 1980s which inspired me to start buying soul and dance music. I began DJing at 13ys and played at several residences including Larry's Bar in Covent Garden (89-95), The Warren Chadwell Heath, The Berwick Manor Rainham and various pubs and clubs around Essex and East London. My first 12" record bought was Jay W McGee "When we party". My first radio broadcast was in February 1989 on Stomp FM 105.4 which broadcast to West Essex and East London. Then moved to Active FM where I held down a regular show on a Sunday evening 9pm until midnight. This featured the 'classic hour' which was a very popular feature. Active FM was changed to Time FM 107.5 where I had a brief presenter role for a month on a Saturday evening from 7pm - 11pm in 2004. I stopped broadcasting to focus on my daytime career and family commitments but continue to follow the soul scene listening to Solar, Mi-Soul, Star Point Radio, StreetSounds Radio and Jazz FM.
